Parish of St. Anne

Detroit, Michigan

Established July 26, 1701

The French explorer Antoine Cadillac led a group of settlers to the future site of the Motor City. The parish was served by a series of log chapels, before pastor Gabriel Richard moved the parish to a new site whereon a stone church was built. The present church was erected in 1886.
