Mission San Gabriel Arcángel

Founded September 8, 1771
San Gabriel was founded by Fathers Pedro Cambón and Joseph de la Somera. The church has been largely preserved as it appeared in the eighteenth century, though it is now surrounded by the busy suburbs of Los Angeles.
