Bishop Benedict Flaget House

Constructed 1795
Home of the first seminary west of the Alleghenies, Bishop Benedict Flaget, the first bishop of Bardstown, also resided here. In addition, the site witnessed the founding of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in 1812. The log house is part of the St. Thomas Farm complex, which includes Old St. Thomas Church, whose cornerstone was blessed in 1813.
