Belmont Abbey (Mary Help of Christians)

Founded 1876
Established by Leo Haid and other Benedictine monks from St. Vincent Archabbey, the abbey was founded in conjunction with a school, Belmont Abbey College. The grounds were placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993, and the Abbey church was granted basilican status in 1998.
