Phyllis McGinley (1905–1978)

Poet

Born in Ontario, Oregon, McGinley moved with her family to Colorado in 1908, and later to Ogden, Utah. After graduation from college, McGinley began a teaching and writing career in New York. She received a Pulitzer Prize for her poetry collection Times Three (1960), and won the University of Notre Dame's Laetare Medal in 1964.
