Justine Ward (1879–1975)
A native of New Jersey, Ward studied Catholic educational theory and music and became a noteworthy music educator and proponent of Gregorian chant. A co-founder of the Pius X Institute of Liturgical Music at Manhattanville College, she there developed what became known as the "Ward Method" of music instruction.
