John W. McCormack (1891–1980)
First Catholic Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives
McCormack was born in Boston and served in the Army during World War I. He represented Massachusetts as a Democrat in the House of Representatives from 1928 to 1971 and was Speaker from 1963 to 1971.
