Father Edmund A. Walsh, SJ (1885–1956)

Walsh founded the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in 1919. A staunch anti-communist, he gained notoriety in the late 1950s, when it was thought that he inspired Senator Joseph McCarthy's crusade against Communists in the American government.
