I Confess

1953

This thriller feels like other Alfred Hitchcock movies—except that its plot device strongly reflects the Catholicism of its director. The story may have been less-than-compelling to non-Catholic audiences who would not have found plausible Fr. Michael Logan's (Montgomery Clift) absolute defense of the seal of confession.
